Richard E 'Butch' Dillon

Richard “Butch” Dillon, 67, a longtime Moses Lake resident, went home to Jesus, Sunday, Sept. 21 in Columbia, Mo. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10 at Heritage Baptist Church, 4334 Joann Drive with Pastor Fred Scudder officiating.

Butch was born March 8, 1941, in Craig, Colo., son of Richard and Helen Dillon. He was raised on a farm and in his teen years his family moved to Ritzville. This is were Butch finished his high school education and where he was married to Charlene (Selcho) on Nov. 2, 1963. They moved to Moses Lake in 1967 and made their home here for almost 30 years. Butch was an outdoorsman from his childhood. Growing up in Colorado, he loved hunting, fishing, and camping in all types of weather. Other hobbies include reloading ammunition, tying flies, and videotaping wild game in the off season. He was hardworking as an auto body and paint technician for nearly 40 years. Butch came to know Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in 1983. His life dramatically changed and the evidence of this was that his life overflowed with joy.

He is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard “Rick” and Dianne Dillon of Tulsa, Okla., Bill and Melodie Dillon of Jefferson City, Mo., Brad and Cathy Dillon of Crestview, Fla.; two sisters, Bobbie Cornett of Electric City, and Lou Thomke of John Day, Ore.; one brother, Jerry Dillon of Moses Lake; four grandchildren, twins Thomas and Taylor of Crestveiw, Fla., Carmen and Sarah of Jefferson City, Mo.

In heaven, Butch has joined his wife Charlene, his son Troy, and many other loved ones.
