LeiAnn K. Treat

| November 28, 2008 8:00 PM

LeiAnn K. Treat passed away Nov. 25, 2008, in Spokane after losing a battle with cancer. She was born Nov. 5, 1963, in San Diego, Calif.

LeiAnn's family moved from San Diego to Federal Way, Wash., where LeiAnn and brother Jason attended elementary school. The next family move was to Vashon Island. LeiAnn attended high school on Vashon where she played softball and was active in 4-H. She was once the Junior Champion Showman at the King County Fair. LeiAnn graduated from Vashon High School as part of class known as the "Pirate Crew of '82."

LeiAnn graduated from Eastern Washington University in 1986 with a BA in recreation therapy. After graduation she worked for Deaconess Hospital in Spokane and Inner Lake School in Medical Lake before getting married to husband Dennis in 1989. LeiAnn and Dennis moved to Moses Lake after a honeymoon in St. Thomas. She then continued her career in Moses Lake until the birth of daughter Jackie on Nov. 5, 1991. Son Jacob followed in 1993. LeiAnn embraced the role of stay-at-home mom for several years until Jackie and Jacob began school.

LeiAnn returned to work and discovered her career passion as a real estate agent. She was employed by Jeff Foster at GMAC Real Estate for several years and truly loved her work and the people that she worked with.

LeiAnn had a love for Jesus Christ, accepting him as her savior. Her other love was for her family. One of LeiAnn's parting wishes was that her family and friends would come to know Jesus as their savior too.

LeiAnn is survived by husband Dennis and children Jackie and Jacob of Wilson Creek. She is survived by her mother, Jackie Bates, of Moses Lake, father Ron (Jan) Bates of Scott Lake, Wash., brother Jason (Robin) Bates of Warden, and step-brother Scott Bates of Los Angeles, Calif.
