Frederic W. Allen

| November 24, 2008 8:00 PM

Frederic W. Allen passed away on Nov. 16, 2008 in Moses Lake. Fred was born on Nov. 30, 1924 in Presque Isle, Maine. He resided on the family farm until 1950 when he joined the Navy. He proudly served his country and often told stories of his time in Russia. Upon returning from the service he entered Dartmouth College.

Fred eventually headed west, living in California before moving to Washington. He began as an apprentice carpenter and eventually became a general contractor and master woodworker. He found tremendous pleasure in being able to think out of the box and found pride in doing projects that others said could not be done. After his retirement, he continued to build furniture for family and friends.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers who remained in Maine. He is survived by his wife Linda of Moses Lake, son Robert, daughter Cheryl, along with four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who reside in Western Washington. He will also be missed by Nahla the dog who was his co-pilot wherever he went. A special thanks to everyone who has reached out to his family with special thanks to Kelley who has always been here when needed.

Fred requested no services and we will respect his wishes. Arrangements have been made through Nicoles Funeral Home in Ephrata.
