Groups give to Moses Lake

REC donates $16,000
MOSES LAKE - Moses Lake accepted several donations from various businesses and organizations Tuesday.
REC Silicon donated $16,000 to the Moses Lake Police Department.
They made the donation as appreciation for traffic control provided near the business while construction was being conducted, according to a city document.
The police department plans to purchase video surveillance equipment to deter graffiti and vandalism, according to a city document. They also plan to purchase cold weather clothing and classroom furniture for the firing range training facility.
Moses Lake Industries donated $5,000 to the parks and recreation department to go toward the Learning Opportunities for Today (LOFT) facility at the Larson Recreation Center.
The Special Olympians donated $2,179 to the Special Olympics program.
The Central Basin Audubon Society donated $2,000 to the city to mount bird specimens at the Moses Lake Museum & Art Center.
