Wayne W. Bolyard

| November 13, 2008 8:00 PM

Wayne W. Bolyard went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, Nov. 10, 2008.

Wayne was born in Wilbur, Wash., on Dec. 19, 1946, to Oscar and Selma Bolyard. He was a lifelong resident of Coulee City, Wash.

He was honorably discharged from the United States Army as a staff sergeant in 1968 after serving in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. He attended the University of Washington soon thereafter, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business.

He was employed as a warehouseman at Central Washington Grain Growers in Coulee City for several decades. He also ran the family ranch, raising cattle and pigs and tending to his orchard. He was a hard worker and knew the land intimately.

Wayne had a love of treasure hunting and local history and was an avid hunter and reader as well. He called himself “an information junkie.”

He is survived by his sister Irene Bolyard of Coulee City, Wash., his brother Warren Bolyard of Hermiston, Ore., his nephew Dan Bolyard and wife Dani of Ephrata, Wash., and their daughter Danika, and his niece Shannon Ashworth of Rosalia, Wash., and her daughters Erika and Grayce. He also leaves behind his very close friends Kirk and Terri Holben of Moses Lake.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Faith Community Church in Moses Lake, 940 E. Nelson Rd. Messages can be left for the family at www.kayserschapel.com.
