MOSES LAKE - After a 34-13 loss to Walla Walla knocked the Moses Lake Chiefs football team out of the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) playoffs last week, the Chiefs look for redemption tonight when the host the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups at Lions Field.

The Chiefs are coming off a 4-2 Columbia Basin Big Nine regular season which saw the Chiefs earn the second seed out of the conference's Columbia Division.

By finishing second in the division, Moses Lake was able to host just the third home playoff game in Lions Field history last week.

Gonzaga Prep is coming off of a 6-2 Greater Spokane League record and a third place finish. The Bullpups failed to qualify for the WIAA playoffs but are coming off of a 28-7 win over Lewis and Clark High School.

Since neither the Chiefs nor the Bullpups are in the WIAA playoffs, the Greater Spokane League and the Columbia Basin Big Nine league will play a crossover game between these two schools.

The Moses Lake offense is led Friday night by senior quarterback Josh Loera.

Loera led the Big Nine conference in total offense, accounting for more than 2,000 yards.

Loera has rushed for 581 yards and eight touchdowns and has thrown for 1476 yards and nine touchdowns this season.

With a 5-4 record this season, the Moses Lake Chiefs must cage the Bullpups tonight to finish the 2008 high school football season with a winning record.

Kick off for tonight's game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

There will be no passes accepted at tonight's game and admission is $6 for adults and $4 for senior citizens and students with ASB cards.

Tonight's game will be televised on Northland Cable channel 3.
