Royal pair leads SCAC all-conference selections
ROYAL CITY - After more than two months of playing volleyball in the South Central Athletic Conference's (SCAC) East Division, the division coaches assembled Monday night to determine the all-conference team.
Royal led the Columbia Basin schools with two selections to the first team.
Senior Janae Anderson and junior Page Woodward were first team all-conference selections for the Royal Lady Knights.
The Lady Knights also had a second team selection in junior Caitlin Paysse.
Warden Lady Cougars volleyball team member and junior Kacey Kisler highlighted Warden's selections. Kisler was selected second team all-conference and was the only Lady Cougar to make either the first or second teams.
Warden senior Amanda Martinez and Royal senior Olivia Christensen rounded out the Columbia Basin selections as both seniors were selected honorable mention all-conference.
While the Lady Cougars only had two players make the all-conference teams, Warden head coach Jeff Kottong was selected the (SCAC) East Division coach of the year by his peers.
Kottong led the Lady Cougars to a 7-9 overall record and a 6-7 league record and also led his team to the SCAC playoffs.
Kottong and his Lady Cougars will face Zillah Saturday morning in the second round of the SCAC playoffs.
