First duathlon attracts adults, children of all ages
MOSES LAKE - More than 300 hearty souls took to the streets on Saturday as part of Spring Fair's first-ever duathlon.
The event featured a 5k fun walk/run, a 10k run and a duathlon, which is a 5k run, followed by a 12-mile bicycle ride and finishing with a 5k run. The duathlon can be done as an individual event or a relay.
"You couldn't ask for any better conditions," race organizer Rory Muller said of the weather conditions that saw cool temperatures and a slight breeze.
This was the first year for the event and Muller said he "didn't know what to expect."
"The city really backed this event" by policing the course and keeping runners safe, he added.
Runners of all ages and skill levels took to the course and Muller said he was "impressed with kids and their eight-minute miles."
Listed below are the top ten in each class.
