Moses Lake Spring Festival starts Thursday

MOSES LAKE - The 28th annual Moses Lake Spring Festival begins Thursday and runs through Sunday.
"It's a great time for families," Spring Festival President Brent Kirwan said.
He said people will see a variety of fun events including the return of the bed races Friday night, the popular Moonlight Parade Saturday night, and the free movie in McCosh Park Sunday night.
All the entertainment except the carnival is free, Kirwan added.
The festival begins Thursday at 4 p.m. in McCosh Park. The carnival, arts, crafts, food and commercial booths open. Admission is two for one during the opening day at the carnival.
There is a beer garden for adults in the park from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
More events continue Friday at 7 a.m. with a pancake breakfast in Sinkiuse Square.
Various downtown businesses will hold sidewalk sales from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
At 10 a.m. musical entertainment is provided by Moses Lake School District bands and choirs in Sinkiuse Square.
More entertainment begins at 3 p.m. in the McCosh Centennial Amphitheater. Performances from Today's Generation, AIM Gymnastics, the Rock'n B Cloggers, Eric Engerbritson and Emily West take place through 6 p.m.
Various booths open in McCosh Park from noon to 9 p.m. and the carnival reopens at 1 p.m.
Bed Races begin at 6 p.m. on Dogwood Street.
A lip sync contest begins in the amphitheater at 8 p.m.
Various foot races begin at 8 a.m. in McCosh Park. Pre-registration is required at buduracing.com. Awards are presented at noon in McCosh Park.
The motorcycle show and the three-on-three basketball tournament begins at 9 a.m. in McCosh Park.
The annual Classic Car Show in Civic Center Park and downtown sidewalk sales begin at 9:30 a.m. Registration for the car show is accepted until the beginning of the event.
Chalk'N the Block is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Third Avenue in front of the Moses Lake Museum and Art Center. People are invited to use chalk to draw in the roadway. The roadway will be blocked from vehicle traffic.
The motorcycle rally is from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in McCosh Park. Registration is accepted until the beginning of the event.
Various booths and the carnival re-open at 11 a.m.
The Moses Lake Surf 'n Slide Water Park opens at 11:30 a.m. The water park features a Flowrider, slides, spray pads and pool areas.
More community entertainment in McCosh Park is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Entertainment includes the Turning Pointe Dance Academy and Springfest Idol.
The beer garden in McCosh Park re-opens from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The kiddie parade begins at 5 p.m. in Sinkiuse Square and the Grand Moonlight Parade begins at 8:30 p.m. on Third Avenue.
The motorcycle rally breakfast and poker run begins at 8:30 a.m. at Chief Moses Middle School.
Various booths are re-opened in McCosh Park from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and the carnival is open from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The beer garden in McCosh Park is from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. with live entertainment beginning at 2 p.m.
Weather permitting, a free movie at the amphitheater will be shown at 8 p.m.
