Columbia Basin League names 4A all-conference softball team

Chiefs' Shayla May named the year's MVP

MOSES LAKE - The Columbia Basin League announced the 2008 4A Fastpitch Softball All-Conference Team line up.

Top student athletes from Wenatchee, Pasco, Richland, Davis, Eisenhower and Moses Lake made the team based on their on-field play throughout the season.

Moses Lake's Shayla May was named as the CBL Most Valuable Player of the Year for her all-around play as an infielder, pitcher and slugger.

At first base senior Sammy Smith received an honorable mention. Third base senior Chelsea Allsbrook also received an honorable mention. Senior Shayla May was named first team short stop. In the outfield Moses Lake senior Shawnee Durbin was named to the first team and senior Katie Cram made the second team.

Columbia Basin Leauge Co-Coaches of the Year were Jerry Humphreys of Walla Walla and Casey Emery of Richland.
