Carol Black

Carol Black, devoted wife and loving mother, passed away Sunday May 18, 2008, at home with her husband Gene Black at her side.

The eldest child of Minor and Yvonne Bottorff, Carol was born on May 22, 1950, in Richland, Wash. During her life, she lived throughout Washington state, moving back to the Moses Lake area to marry Gene Black, the love of her life. Carol graduated from Central Washington University with a degree in anthropology following her passion for history and cultural studies. Carol donated her body to medical science research at Washington State University, Pullman, to further the college studies of other students.

Carol is survived by her husband Gene Black; daughter Jody Bortz and her family David Kruger, Chauntelle Kruger, Cassandra Burbank and Bryce Kruger; son Robert M. Harris; parents Minor and Yvonne Bottorff, brother and sister-in-law David and Jan and their daughters Lexi and Breanna Bottorff; sister Terri and her sons Chris, Nick and Neil Constance. Carol also has many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom loved and will miss her deeply. A private memorial service will be held by the family to honor her life. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Carol's name to her favorite charity, The Salvation Army.

The family would like to thank the community and hospice staff for their support provided to Carol and her family during her final days.
