Minerva J. 'Chris' Eldridge
Born Sept. 3, 1921, in Oakland, Calif., Minerva was raised on the coast of Washington and in Bremerton. She passed away on May 11, 2008, in Moses Lake where she had spent many years.
She came to the area in the 1950s and moved to the Spokane area in the early 1970s. She came back and has lived the better part of 20 some years in the city. She loved the area and always was active in doing her part to make it a better place. She was a charter member of the Central Basin Audubon Society, delivered Meals on Wheels to area residents and was involved in many other organizations. She leaves behind a grandson, Keith McKeehan, great-granddaughters Sophia and Olivia, stepdaughter Sharon Logan (Al), stepgrandson Guy Logan and step-great-grandson Weston Logan, a sister-in-law Janet Christiansen and her two daughters and son, many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy Christiansen, mother Eppie, son Fred McKeehan, siblings, Roy, Ray, Don and Doug Christiansen. She lived a very full life, was very proud of being in the WW II war effort in the Puget Sound area as a "Rosie the Riveter." She enjoyed so much the out of doors; her interests were many, and her love of birds was with her to the end. She will be missed by both family and friends. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are in care of Benson Family Funeral Service, Chapel, Cemetery and Crematory, Moses Lake.
