WARDEN - The Warden Cougars took on the Wahluke Warriors in a doubleheader featuring girls fastpitch softball on Saturday.

Warden coach Wes Richins said the team had "a pretty dominate day" in winning both games.

In game one, Warden crushed the Warriors 26-2. Warden hurlers Jenny Guerra and Eve Martinez combined for the no-hitter.

Game two saw pitcher Randi Wright pitch the third no-hitter of her career by blanking the Warriors 20-2.

"They have been here before and know what it takes to move on to state," Richins said. "Our seniors are stepping it up," he added, as they prepare to take on Cle Elum in the first round of playoffs on Thursday.

Amanda Martin was 4-for-4 with five runs, Sandra Castoreno went 5-for-9 with nine runs, Jenny Guerra was 5-for-6 with five RBIs, Kelsey Garner went 3-for-6 and Cassandra Kisler went 4-for-8.

The Cougars finished their season 14-6 and 10-2 in league play. Districts continue at the TRAC in Pasco on Saturday.
