Lady Chiefs continue postseason tennis play
YAKIMA - The Moses Lake Lady Chiefs made the trip to Yakima for district tennis action on Saturday.
In the first round, Sherri Pearson of Moses Lake was defeated 3-6, 2-6. Rachel Goodrich lost 1-6, 1-6. Breana Murch fell 0-6, 0-6. Emily White won her first round match 6-3, 6-2.
Second round action had Emily White advance to the quarterfinals by a score of 6-2, 6-3. White then lost in the quarterfinals to the No. 2 seed from Wenatchee 0-6, 1-6.
In doubles action, Jessica Massart and Reilly Hourigan lost 1-6, 0-6. Rachel Korth and Rachel Hofstetter won 6-4, 6-0, advancing to the second round. Melissa Calder and Nanako Era lost 1-6, 3-6.
The second round in doubles action saw Megan Frederic and Charleen Johnson win 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 6-4, advancing them to the quarterfinals where they defeated a pair from Richland 6-7 (7-9), 6-2, 6-4.
The girls continue their playoff hopes on Friday at University High in Spokane.
