Moses Lake softball beats out Wenatchee

MOSES LAKE - The Moses Lake Lady Chiefs played host to the Wenatchee Panthers in a fastpitch softball game Thursday at Larson Playfield. The No.

4 Chiefs defeated the fifth place Panthers 7-4 in a loser-out game as playoff seeding begins.

Moses Lake coach Dave Gregory "feels great" about the win over the Panthers.

"It's hard to beat the same team three times in one season," he said of facing the Panthers this year.

Pitcher Shayla May of Moses Lake said the game "was insane" and "stressful at the end" as she pitched her way out of a seventh inning rally by the Panthers.

Moses Lake had seven runs on eight hits and seven errors. Wenatchee scored four runs on seven hits and two errors.

At the plate, Moses Lake's Shawnee Durbin hit 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Chelsea Allsbrook went 1-for-2 with a homerun. Gabrielle Vasquez was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

The Chiefs continue in the playoffs in fourth place and face Walla Walla at Larson Playfield on Saturday at 10 a.m.
