CB United take tourney championship

BURLINGTON - CB United 95 Navy, a soccer team for girls 13 and under from throughout the Columbia Basin, recently competed in the 2008 Skagit Valley Tulip Tournament. The girls, competing a year up, "were very strong" according to team manager Betty Craig as they swept the tournament by defeating teams from the Skagit Valley and Everett.
"New players added depth to the team," Craig said of recently added players from Moses Lake and Ephrata.
In the championship game, CB United defeated a premier team from Everett 2-1. Vanessa McNair scored the winning goal with an assist from Jessica Craig.
