WARDEN - In what coach Myrtle Voss called a "great match," the Warden girls golf team hosted Goldendale and Quincy on Thursday.

The Warden team set a new league match record on the course, Voss said, surpassing the 2002 record of 445. The team on Thursday shot a 408.

"My girls are peaking right at the right time," Voss said. "They're all shooting so good right now."

Six Lady Cougars shot their personal best, including Thursday's medalist sophomore Haley Buck. Her score of 98 was also the first time she broke 100, Voss said.

Junior Kim McPartland had a score of 99. Seniors Jena Whitney and Lizeth Rodriguez also shot their personal bests at 102 and 109, respectively. Carter Marks, Casey Kisler and Lara Crow also scored their personal bests.

"It was so awesome," Voss said of the girls scores. "Everybody was just screaming and hollering and laughing and crying. It was awesome."

Monia DeRushe of Goldendale scored a 105, followed by teammates Amber Ihrig (110), Margaret Bellamy (121) and Sami Nickels (132).

The Jacks participated in Thursday's match despite not having a complete team in attendance, Voss said. Quincy's Katy Higgins scored a 117 and Karissa Arizme shot a 137. Kaylee Keller had no score recorded.

Warden's next match is on Tuesday against Wahluke and Goldendale in Wahluke. Sub-district play begins on Thursday in Wahluke.
