Wenatchee bests Chiefs girls tennis

MOSES LAKE - The Moses Lake Chief girls hosted Wenatchee in tennis match play on Tuesday - a match in which they were defeated by a score of 7-0.
In singles play, Charleen Johnson of the Chief's was bested by Nichole Barnhart 4-6, 1-6. Megan Fredrick of Moses Lake fell to Victoria Monreal 1-6, 2-6. Moses Lake's Emily White was beaten by Amy Schuemann 2-6, 3-6. Wenatchee's Katie Willis prevailed over Rachel Goodrich 6-0, 6-0.
On the court in doubles action, Namako Era and Sherrie Person of the Chiefs were overcome by Tatiana Wood and Claire Valdez 1-6, 0-6. Moses Lake's Reily Hourigan and Jessica Massart were defeated by Karlie Neff and Denise Burnett 0-6,
0-6. Wenatchee's Jenny Schroeder and Rachel Knox beat Melissa Calder and Breana Murch.
The Chief girls next play in the Inland Empire Tournament today and Saturday in Spokane.
