Connell baseball sweeps Royal

ROYAL CITY - The Royal City Knights played a double header with the Connell Eagles in varsity baseball in Royal City on Tuesday.

In game one, the Eagles defeated the Knights 8-1.

Royal scored 1 run on one hit and two errors. The Eagles had 8 runs on 11 hits and two errors.

The win went to Eagles' Morgan Heiman and the loss Marc Albertson.

At bat for Connell, Nate Eppich went 3-4 with a homer and two doubles.

Game two saw Connell shut out the Knights 6-0.

Connell scored 6 runs on nine hits with only one error. Royal had no runs with six hits and two errors.

The win was given to Connell's Nate Eppich with six strikeouts and Tito Garza was charged with the loss.

Royal's sluggers Zach Lewis went 3-3 and Conner Paysee was 2-3. Connell batters Wes Jenks went 3-4 and Nate Eppich 2-2.
