Stella 'Blanche' Loan

| March 28, 2008 9:00 PM

Beloved daughter, sister and friend went to be with her lord on March 9, 2008, at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland, Wash., from an extended illness.

She was born in Norfolk, Va., on May 3, 1951. Stella was a resident of the Avalon Care Center, in Othello since 2002. Prior to living in Othello, she resided in Moses Lake for many years. She was a member of the second ward of the LDS Church in Othello since 1990 where she made many new friends and considered "family" during that time. Stella loved to play bingo with the other residents at the Avalon Center, she loved doing crossword puzzles and listening to her audio tapes of church services and audio books. She loved to collect stuffed animals, of which bears were her favorite.

Stella leaves behind her mother, Mary E. Hyke and brother Donald W. Howard, both of Woodland, Wash. Three sisters, Denise White and husband John of Moses Lake, Cindy Howard also of Moses Lake, and Pamela Dove and husband Robert of Coulee City. Several nieces and nephews, her uncle James Loan of Sunland, Calif., and many extended "family" members.

Graveside services will be held at the "Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens" in Othello on April 26 at 1 p.m. Services to be officiated by Bishop Steven Clay. Arrangements made by Stevens Funeral Home in Othello. Friends welcome.
