Six weekend burglaries in Moses Lake investigated

Some property located, one arrest made

MOSES LAKE - Six residential burglaries were reported in Moses Lake last weekend.

One arrest was made after officers located some of the stolen property.

The first burglary was reported Friday morning on West Broadway Avenue.

Nine cartons of cigarettes, beer and quarters were reported stolen from a residence. Police reported no signs of forced entry. The occupant allegedly told police he wasn't sure if he secured the home.

A residence on South Pioneer Way was burglarized. Checkbooks, prescription medication, knives and money were reported stolen.

On Friday night a woman advised someone stole several items from her Miller Drive Northeast residence. An iPod Nano, two watches, two pairs of sunglasses and a sweater were reported stolen. According to police, there was no forced entry.

A West Wapato Drive residence was reportedly burglarized Saturday afternoon. The victim told police it was unclear is anything was taken. Police advised several pry marks were located at the rear door of the home.

Several electronics were reported stolen from a South Hawthorne Drive residence. A man reported two cellphones, two digital cameras, jewelry, a computer monitor and a backpack were stolen.

Police served a search warrant approximately two hours later at a South Grand Drive residence where some stolen property was recovered.

Emmanuel Garcia, 30, was arrested for possession of stolen property.

With the exception of one cellphone, all items reported stolen from the South Hawthorne Drive home were recovered at the South Grand Drive residence.

The final burglary was reported on West Cascade Avenue. Jewelry, cash and an iPod were reported stolen from the residence. Police advised the front door was forced open.
