Requests for Bids

The Housing Authority of Grant County is requesting sealed bids to replace existing waste piping located in crawl space areas under units. There are five duplexes and two single units located in Warden, WA.

Bid packages are available at 1139 Larson Blvd., Moses Lake, WA, or by calling Tami Torrey at (509) 762-5541.

All bids over $25,000 must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the form of a bid bond or certified cashier's check made payable to Housing Authoriy of Grant County in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. Cost of bonds must be included in the bid price.

There will be a mandatory bid walk through on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. meeting on Elm Street in Warden. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope bearing the project name no later than 2:00 p.m., April 10, 2008. No facsimiles will be accepted.

This project is funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. All related regulations and requirements will apply. Contractors must meet at HUD qualifications for contracting and pay all employees established Davis Bacon wages as determined by HUD.

The Housing Authority has the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any minor irregularities in the bids. PUBLIC NOTICE

The East Columbia Basin Irrigation District will be making aquatic herbicide treatments beginning in May 2008 and continuing through the end of the 2008 irrigation season. These herbicide treatments will be made pursuant to a Department of Ecology NPDES General Permit for Aquatic Weed Control in Irrigation Systems (Permit No. WAG-991010).

The District's service area is located in the Moses Lake, Warden and Othello areas of Grant and Adams Counties. The District operates the East Low Canal and its laterals plus some laterals of the Potholes East Canal. 49 locations on various canals, laterals, wasteways and drains within the District's service areas will receive these treatments to control the growth of algae, moss and pondweeds. Frequency of treatments varies from as often as biweekly to as seldom as twice per irrigation season depending on locaton and circumstances. Permanent signs giving notice of aquatic herbicide treaments have been erected at public road crossing of treated waterways within one mile of the teatment sites. The herbicides being used for these treatments are copper sulfate, Nautique Aquatic Herbicide (copper), Aquatic Weed Killer (xylene) and Mangicide H (acrolein) which are registered for such use under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). Water remains suitable for irrigation use during aquatic herbicide treatments. Treated water is not suitable for drinking or swimming.

AGING & ADULT CARE OF CENTRAL WASHINGTON

2008 CAREGIVER BASIC TRAINING CONTRACT

Aging & Adult Care of Central Washington (AACCW) seeks a contractor to provide Caregiver Training in Adams, Chelan, Douglas, Grant, Lincoln, and Okanogan Counties. The qualification process will result in one contract for all six counties. The contract will start July 1, 2008 and may be renewed, one year at a time, for up to three years from the initial contract period at the discretion of the AACCW. The AACCW is an Equal Opportunity Agency. Minority and woman-owned firms are encouraged to apply. AACCW reserves the right to reject any or all submittals and to waive irregularities.

Written requests for a Request for Information (RFI) packet must be received by 4:00PM on March 26, 2008 at: AACCW, 50 Simon St. SE, East Wenatchee, WA 98802.
