Kamali'i girls storm through Yakima tourney

YAKIMA — The Kamali’i Volleyball Club Blue, a U-14 team, took first place last weekend at the Yakima Jamboree.

Kamali’i won the Challenge Division, which was comprised of 32 teams. They placed first in pool play, before advancing to tournament play and beating Vancouver’s Excel White and Bellevue’s YMCA Blaze.

In the championship game, Kamali’i defeated the North Central Washington Volleyball Club out of Wenatchee.

The team is coached by Jenny Ratigan, Kim Crown and Britney Ratigan. Players are Kendra Dehoog, Taylor Sonnenberg, Sadie Nielsen, Morgan Crown, Tessa Ratigan, MacKenzie Fancher, Sara Horning and Keiley Garcia.
