Fire destroys Quincy garage

Fire remains under investigation

QUINCY - Grant County Fire District No. 3 extinguished a garage fire Sunday afternoon.

"The fire gutted the building," Fire Chief Don Fortier said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The 30-square-foot building was vacant at the time of the fire, he said.

There were no injuries and the fire was quickly extinguished once the department reached the scene on B Street Southeast, Fortier said.

Firefighters spent approximately one and a half hours clearing the scene.

The fire was reported after a neighbor spotted the flames, he said.
