Florence Marie Bellomy (Smalley)

| March 14, 2008 9:00 PM

Florence Bellomy (Flossie), wife, mother, and Bestamor went peacefully into God's hands on March 10, 2008, surrounded by all her family.

She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on Aug.17, 1921, to Frank and Nellie Smalley. Flossie grew up in Cascade, Idaho, attended Lewiston Normal School where she met her "sweetie" William L. Bellomy "Bill." They married in 1943 prior to Bill leaving for World War II. In 1951 they settled in Moses Lake to farm and raise their six children where Flossie was very involved in her community and church where she served as an Elder. She was a 50-year charter member of Chapter ER P.E.O. They later retired to live on Anderson Island in 1984 where she enjoyed golfing, boating, tutoring and summer visits from all her grandchildren. In 2002 they moved to Yakima to enjoy the Eastern Washington sunshine.

She loved her Lord, people, who equally loved her, life which she lived to the fullest, her "sweetie" Bill, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with her passion for living life to the fullest she loved teaching, cooking, singing, playing bridge, golfing, traveling, growing roses, "Mr. Lincoln" was her favorite, and the Mariners. She found great joy in attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting and musical events.

She is survived by her husband Bill Bellomy, daughters Chris Quinn (Bill) Karen Bernd (Doug) Judy Dietzen (Tim) and Jeannie Sanders (Dave) and son Col. Robert Bellomy (Carol), 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Flossie was preceded in death by her son William L. Bellomy Jr.

The Bellomy family would like to thank Franciscan Hospice House for the compassionate and loving care they gave Flossie as she waited to be called home by her Lord and Savior.

A celebration of her life will be held in Yakima at First Presbyterian Church on Monday, March 17, 2008, and 11 a.m.
