Daniel C. Dahlke
Daniel C. Dahlke was bom April 22, 1949, to Carl and Bernadette Dahlke. He grew up on his parents' family farm.
After graduating from Grandview High School he attended Yakima Valley Community College and later Central Washington University, where he received his teaching certificate. Daniel then taught fifth grade in Selah's grade school. After teaching for two years he decided to begin a partnership with his nephew, Woodie Jones and came to the Columbia Basin in 1973 to start farming. During the winter of 1977 Daniel attended Westem Baptist Bible College where he met his wife, Susan, whom he married on Dec. 30, 1978. He and Susan devoted themselves to having a Godly relationship and eventually raising four children. He was involved in his local church family, and served as a Sunday School teacher for many years at the First Baptist Church of Royal City. He also encouraged the saints at the First Baptist Church of Warden and numerous others who attended small Bible studies in the area. Daniel, 58, passed away on March 9, 2008, at his home in Royal City, from a heart attack.
He is survived by his wife, Susan, and their four children. His oldest daughter, Sarah, and her husband, Daniel Adams, now make their home in Bellingham, Wash. Andrew is attending college at the University of Idaho in Moscow, and Anna and Joseph are still living at home. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Dahlke and wife Georgia, his nephew, Woodie Jones and wife Sherrie, and his nieces, Cheri Jones, and Suzette Chavers and husband Herb. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and sister Darlene Jones. A graveside service for the family and relatives will be held Friday, March 14, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the Nazarene Church of Royal City.
