| March 7, 2008 8:00 PM

John P. Mack passed away suddenly on Friday, Feb. 29, in his brother's home, following a short illness.

John was born on Feb. 6, 1954, at Mc Kay Memorial Hospital in Soap Lake to Albert and Karlee Mack. He was the first of eight children, attended school K-12 in Ephrata, graduating in June 1972. John held various jobs in his travels around the country, finally settling down back in Ephrata. He worked as a prep operator at Lamb Weston in Quincy, and milled seeds for several years in Winchester.

His passions were his family and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He was affiIiated with local motorcycle clubs and loved the lifestyle of the open road and travel. However, his greatest joy and love were his family. "Uncle John" was known for his unconditional love and acceptance of everyone in his family. He loved each of us wherever we were and whoever we wanted to be. He leaves us a legacy of funny stories, a keen sense of humor, and the knowledge that in spite of everything, he loved and accepted us.

John is survived by his brothers and sisters, Victor Mack and Albert Mack of Ephrata, Peggy (Ken) Long of Davenport, Ted Mack of Soap Lake, Paula (Dennis) VanVelkinburgh of Ephrata, David Mack of Ephrata, and Karl (Roxanne) Mack of Soap Lake, the joy of his fife, his nieces and nephews, Matt, Lisa, Terrah, Nicky, Stacey, Gary, Aleisha, Eric, Jamie, Jared, Jacob, Jeremiah, Jesse, Nathan, Aaron, Kathryn, Phillip, Diane, Daniel, Kerry, and Michael, his aunt and uncle Sharon and Les Swingle of Livingston, Mont., his uncle and aunt Victor and Dodie Mack of Kingman, Ariz., numerous cousins, and grand-nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents, a niece and nephew, and a cousin. There will be no services at the request of our brother. A celebration of his life with family and friends will be held at the Ephrata Church of the Nazarene, 33 D St. NE, Ephrata, at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 8.
