Eva J. Maine

Eva J. Maine, 86, of Othello, died Tuesday March 4, 2008, at the Avalon Care Center in Othello.

Eva was born on July 14, 1921, in Arlington, Wisc., to George and Daisy (Davis) Bauer. The family moved to Hot Springs, S. D., when Eva was very young. She was raised and educated in Hot Springs. She met Melvin Maine as she was growing up and on Dec. 31, 1939, they married in Newcastle, Wyo. They lived in Hot Springs until moving to Othello in 1953. In Othello Eva worked as a nurse's aid for the Othello Community Hospital, at the Vickery's grocery store and then retired from Carnation in the early 1980s.

A celebration of Eva's life will be held at the First Christian Church of Othello on Sunday March 9, at 2 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Chapel in Othello. A guest book may be signed for the family at stevensfuneralchapel.com.
