Candidate is guest at Adams County Republican dinner
RITZVILLE - The Adams County Republican Party is hosting a Lincoln Day Dinner Saturday in Ritzville.
A social hour begins at 4 p.m. at the American Legion Club, located at 106 W. Broadway Ave., Adams County Republican Party Chair Bob Fuller said. The barbecued beef and sausage dinner begins at 5:30 p.m.
State governor candidate Dino Rossi is the guest speaker. Fuller said Rossi might talk about his candidacy and his goals for Washington state.
There are several other guest speakers including state Attorney General Rob McKenna, Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rogers, state Commissioner of Public Lands Doug Sutherland and state Republican Party Chairman Luke Esser.
Fuller said Sen. Mark Schoesler, Republican National Committeewoman Fredi Simpson and several mayors throughout Adams County are expected to attend.
A silent and live auction feature items ranging from an antique picture of Abraham Lincoln to engraved golf balls featuring the Republican party elephant, he said. Money raised along with the $25 ticket fee goes toward the party.
The party uses the money to fund party functions and to support candidates, Fuller said.
He encourages citizens to attend the event because it is rare for a rural community to have the opportunity to meet face to face with lawmakers and state leaders.
