Laura Elizabeth (Bischoff) Drew, age 63, passed away on June 25, 2008, of liver disease. She died quietly at Spokane Hospice, surrounded by her family.
Laura was born on Sept. 15, 1944, to Milton and Evelyn Bischoff of Othello. She attended school in Othello for 12 years, graduating in 1962. After graduation, Laura was a meat wrapper in her father's business.
On May 7, 1971, she married Harvey Drew in Warden.
After they moved to Moses Lake, Laura began working for the state migrant education program as a consultant. She continued her consultant position throughout their time in Moses Lake, their move to Kennewick and then back to Moses Lake.
Laura was a member of Beau Arts in Kennewick, the Audubon Society and Moses Lake Art Club. Laura was a very talented artist, working in oils, pastels, pen and ink and photography. She sold much of her work, but also enjoyed sharing it with family and friends.
She loved gardening, especially her roses. As she and her husband traveled, she enjoyed photographing sights, especially flowers, birds and old barns. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She and Harvey loved taking them on trips, especially to the Oregon coast.
Laura is survived by her loving husband, Harvey; son, Kenny (Brenda); and grandchildren, Amanda and Barret of Royal City; sisters, Linda (Larry) Jamieson of Connell and Jeanne (Cecil) Waddell of Walla Walla; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Cora Nichols. At her request, there will be no service. Riplinger Funeral Home in Spokane is in charge of arrangements.
