Hints when traveling north for sports

MOSES LAKE - The summer sports season brings with it the need to travel north of the border for upcoming tournaments. It's not always possible for players' both parents or guardians to travel with the team.

Here's a few tips on how to make the crossing less stressful and more efficient:

All kids need a picture ID and birth certificate.

If there is another parent from another household where one parent has custody, the parent taking the minor across the border will need to have a parental consent form signed and notarized by the other parent to take the minor out of the country.

Adults will need either a passport OR drivers license and birth certificate.

If there is a random pull over where they interview or run a background check on anybody, you could be denied entry into Canada for any misdemeanor, regardless of how small, within the past 10 years.
