Edith Maria Witthuhn

Edith Maria Witthuhn was born June 7, 1928, to Rudholph and Anna Konig, in Linz, Austria. In 1956 she met and married Harold P. Witthuhn in Hanover, West Germany after Harold retired from the Army. After living in numerous different towns they came to Moses Lake and decided to make it their home in 1961.

In 1966 Edith desired to become a legal citizen of the United States and went to Big Bend Community College for schooling. She successfully became an American citizen in early 1967.

Edith loved flower gardening, camping and the freedom of America. She went to be with her heavenly Father on May 8, 2008. She was loved by all that met her and she will be greatly missed.

Edith was preceded in death by Rudholph Konig, father, Anna Konig, mother, Rudy Konig, brother, and Harold P. Witthuhn, husband. She is survived by Willi Witthuhn, son, Erna, sister, Enga, sister, Effie, sister, Trey Goodwin, grandson, Robert J. Goodwin, grandson, Dana Shamlian Toth, granddaughter, her two great-grandchildren, Hannah, and Robbie Toth.

Special thanks is given from me, Willi Witthuhn, to some that I consider to be my brother and sisters. Santos Gonzalez, Irene DeLeon, Mary Lou Cedillo, Terry Salazar, Rose Holm, Lidia Gonzalez. Also, thanks to friends Tony Gonzalez and Joe Grover.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be gifted to Edith Maria Witthuhn Memorial Fund c/o Washington Trust Bank.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. at McCosh Park at the gazebo on Saturday, June 28, in Moses Lake. A potluck reception will immediately follow. Please bring your favorite dish to share.
