Luella Busse

Luella Busse, a longtime Moses Lake resident passed away peacefully at Holy Family Hospital in Spokane on Wednesday, June 18, 2008.

Memorial services will be held on Monday at Moses Lake First Presbyterian Church where Luella was a member. Pastor Eric Frey will be officiating the service at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow in the church reception hall.

Luella was born in Blue Earth, Minn., to Charles and Lillie Deinhart on June 21, 1921. She was raised and educated in Minnesota and married William Busse on June 21, 1943. Luella and William lived in Minnesota the early years of their marriage, where both of their sons were born. They moved to Moses Lake in 1955, where she made her home for over 52 years. Luella had been living in Spokane since last September at an assisted living home.

She enjoyed photography, cooking and collecting recipes, gardening, but most of all caring for and spending time with her family. Luella enjoyed many friendships, some that lasted for over 50 years. Luella took great pride in being a wife and mother and considered it the "best job" in the world. She was devoted to caring for and loving little children whether they were her own, grandchildren, or children in the neighborhood. Luella found great pleasures in the simple things in life. She lived well, loved much, and laughed often!

Luella is preceded in death by her husband William, and two grandchildren Jennifer, and Mark. She is survived by her two sons, Larry and Bonnie Busse, Spokane, and Robert and Susan Busse, Auburn, Wash., two sisters, Ilene Sorenson, Glyndon, Minn., and Iva Jean Iwen, Bothell, Wash., and one brother Merlyn Deinhart, Mount Lake Terrace, Wash.

Luella had three grandchildren, Tim Busse, Dan Busse and Jill Fetcho. She was blessed with seven great grandchildren, Philip, Katy, Caleb and Makayla Busse, William and Claire Busse, and Markus Fetcho, all of Spokane.
