Pirates fall to Bellingham Bells

BELLINGHAM - The Moses Lake Pirates traveled to Bellingham to take on the Bells in a three game road trip.

Game one on Tuesday saw the Pirates go down in defeat to the Bells by a score of 4-2. The Pirates scored two runs on five hits with one error. The Bells made four runs on six hits with no errors.

Bellingham's Jett Hart walked in the first inning, advanced to second on a ground out, stole third and scored on a J. Locker ground out.

The fourth inning had the Bells scoring a run on Sean Halton's home run shot to left field.

The Pirates' only runs came in the fifth inning when Nick Stiltner singled to center followed by Ty Rubio's single to center. Both Stiltner and Rubio advanced on a wild pitch. Dane Yelovich scored Stiltner on a ground out and Rubio scored on a wild pitch.

Bellingham scored two more runs in the seventh sealing the Pirates' fate.

Moses Lake's Anthony Smith was credited with the loss and the win went to Bellingham's Jordan Chambers.

The loss put the Pirates' record at 3-1 on the regular season. Moses Lake's next home game is Friday against the Kitsap BlueJackets for Hawaiian shirt night sponsored by The Black Book at Larson Playfield at 7:30 p.m.
