Anita O. Pope, 84, Moses Lake resident, passed away Monday, June 16, 2008, at LakeRidge Special Care Center in Moses Lake.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 23 at Kayser's Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Holladay Sanderson of St. Martin's Episcopal Church officiating. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake. Viewing will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, June 21, 2008, from 8 a.m. until noon. You may sign the guest book or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com. Anita was born Aug. 28, 1923, to the late Albert and Alice F. (Hobbs) Tredway in Knowlton, Mont., where she was raised and educated. In the early 1940s she married Don Nickerson in Colorado where they made their home. They later divorced and Anita moved to Montana where she met and married Carl Pope. They moved to the Othello area in the mid 1960s. She was employed as the Floor Lady for Chief Ready Foods where she worked for many years. She later drove a bus for the senior citizens. She was an active member of the VFW ladies auxiliary. Anita loved the outdoors and enjoyed time camping. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with them. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Flora Belle and Roger Long of Meridian, Idaho and Dona Mae and Jim Palmen of Moses Lake; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ben Nickerson of Anchorage, Alaska; Steve and Janelle Pope of Western Washington, and Jimmy Lee and Jackie Pope of Moses Lake; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl, her three brothers and two grandsons, Tyler Pope and John Palmen.
