Alvina (Schmidt-Jeske) Lodoen

| June 16, 2008 9:00 PM

On May 31, 2008, our beloved mother went to be with her family in heaven.

She was born in Zap, N.D. on Sept. 26, 1919, to Fred L. and Elizabeth Katherine (Miller) Schmidt, 88 years ago. The family moved to different locations in her younger days, but spent most of her youth in the Warden and Moses Lake area. She married Ted Jeske in Warden on Nov. 2, 1937, and farmed in the area for many years, while raising three daughters, Diana, Carol and Pat.

On Dec. 11, 1964, she married Paul K. Lodoen and moved to Fairbanks, Alaska where they lived for 13 years. In 1976 they returned to the lower 48, making Kalispell, Mont., their new home. They made lifelong friends there and enjoyed living in the "Big Sky" country. After our "Special Dad" passed away, Mom came back to Moses Lake to live close to her family. She spent her time gardening, knitting, crocheting and visiting with all her relatives, of which there are many. We miss her very much, but know that she is happy to be with her family who have passed on before, and will have "eternal peace" with our Lord.

Alvina is survived by her children Diana Morris, of Moses Lake, Carol (Terry) Billings, Pat (Ellis) Millard, all of Warden, Roberta Taney of Pasadena, Texas, Garry (Darla) Lodoen of Anchorage, Alaska; brothers and sisters Alfred Schmidt of Rochester, Freda Peters of Fairbanks, Alaska, Rueben Schmidt and Herbert Schmidt, both of Moses Lake, Irene Rome, of Bellingham, Harold Schmidt of Everett, and Terry Schmidt of Burien; nine grandchildren Clint and Tom Morris, Jay Snelling, Jody Clark, John and Darlene Millard, Scott and Gregg Taney and Garry Lodoen Jr., 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Theodore Jeske in 1974, husband Paul Lodoen in 1993, brothers Reinhold Schmidt, Gustave Schmidt, sisters Oleda Schmidt, Ella Meske and grandchildren Donald Morris, Richard Morris, Jeffrey Snelling and Gregory Snelling.

Friends are invited to join the family at the graveside services which will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 21, in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Warden.

Arrangements in care of Carver Family Funeral Home, Moses Lake.
