Janis Marie Carvo
Janis Marie Carvo passed away in the comfort of her home on June 11, 2008, at the age of 58. She was born in Yakima on Feb. 14, 1950.
Janis attended Midway Elementary, Frontier Junior High, Moses Lake High School and Washington State University. Janis graduated from WSU in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in bacteriology and public health. She then completed the medical technology program at Saint Frances Hospital in Hartford, Conn.
Janis began her career as a medical technologist in Toppenish. After five years in Toppenish, she moved back to Moses Lake and began working at Samaritan Hospital in the laboratory as a med tech. Janis has worked for Samaritan Hospital for 30 years.
Janis enjoyed reading, photography, computers, scrap-booking, and genealogy. She spent many hours driving around listening to books on tapes and taking pictures. Her greatest joy was traveling, which included most of Europe, Canada and much of the United States.
Janis is preceded in death by her father, Emery Joseph Carvo. She is survived by her mother Barbara Carvo, sisters Carolyn and Dwight DuVall, Nancy Kanoff and Kristine and Brian Clemetson all of Moses Lake, and brothers Francis and Terrie Carvo of Mattawa, Larry and Genia Carvo of Connell, Randy and Brenda Carvo of Moses Lake, Charles and Julie Carvo of Moses Lake, Richard and Alice Carvo of Cheney. She is also related to 26 nieces and nephews and 29 grandnieces and nephews.
Holy Rosary will be prayed with a Memorial Mass immediately following at 1 a.m. on Friday, June 13 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Columbarium at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
