Stick and ball rules Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE - Stick and ball take over Moses Lake this weekend.

The Moses Lake Pirates kick off their season at 7:30 p.m. at Larson Playfield, and that's just a start to the action. Moses Lake will be the host for the 17U Junior Legion Walleye Classic at Lauzier Field and the high school.

"We expect over 350 players, coaches and families this weekend," Walleyes head coach Ed McNamara said.

They are "expecting great baseball and some tough competition," he added.

The next tournament scheduled, the Moses Lake Classic, will be held in mid-June. Those interested in volunteering with the league can contact Phil Signorelli at 509-760-3673.

Also taking place this weekend is the "Summer Heat"

tournament feature the girls of the Columbia Basin Girl's

Softball Association. Teams from Spokane, Tri-Cities, Othello and Seattle will be playing in brackets of 10-12 and 14-16-year-olds. For more information on the Summer Heat Tournament visit
