Archaeologist's autopsy completed

MOSES LAKE - A Grant County PUD senior archeologist who was found dead on a hiking trail near Beverly died of a heart attack, the Grant County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.

Harvey "Pete" Rice, 73, of Beverly, was found Saturday by an area resident, Grant County Chief Deputy Courtney Conklin said. Investigators believe Rice was hiking early Saturday morning.

Rice started working for Grant PUD in 1999 and was employed with the utility up until his death, a utility spokesperson said.
