Kisler leaves Warden council

WARDEN - Todd Kisler resigned his position as a Warden city councilmember Tuesday night.

A resignation letter was read by Mayor Roldan Capetillo, which listed "obligations" as the reasons for Kisler's leaving. Kisler wrote about how serving Warden for six years was a pleasure.

"He's helped a lot but I know that now with him working at the school and also coaching at the school it's harder for him and after talking with me he just said he feels very unfortunate that he doesn't provide enough time for the council," Capetillo said.

Kisler teaches and is head girls' basketball coach at Warden High School in addition to being a fire fighter.

City Clerk Kriss Shuler had only positive recollections from Kisler's time on council.

"We're sorry that he is not going to be here," Shuler said.

Kisler was re-elected in January for a four-year term and his replacement will enter part-way through the term, Shuler said.

Shuler said she expects the city to advertise the open position on the council soon. The city will request letters of interest and the city council will interview individuals for the position.

Kisler was not available for comment.
