Morris starts for East
Moses Lake starter is 1-1 for the Pirates
MOSES LAKE - With the passing of the 2008 West Coast Collegiate Baseball League all star game, the Moses Lake Pirates are nearly two-thirds of the way through the 2008 WCCBL season. After heading into the all star break with a 9-19 record, the Pirates had three representatives in the July 22 all star game, including starting pitcher A.J. Morris.
Morris said it was an honor to get the start in the all star game.
"It feels good," he said. "Any time you work hard and get rewarded for it is a good feeling."
Morris is a senior pitcher at Kansas State University and said he appreciates the level of support the Pirates have in Moses Lake.
"It's nice to see all the people come out," he said.
Morris redshirted his freshman year at Kansas State and is continuously working to improve, he said.
"You always dream of doing well," he said. "You are constantly working to improve, working to get better."
With only 14 games remaining before the divisional playoffs begin in the WCCBL, Morris is looking to improve while he plays for Moses Lake.
"I am working, working, working," he said. "Trying to get better everyday."
