Third baseman is one of three Pirate all stars
MOSES LAKE - After playing summer baseball in the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League for more than two months, Moses Lake third baseman Brandon Huerta is excited for the opportunity to play baseball at this level.
"I am really excited," he said. "The level of play here is high. There are a lot of good players."
Huerta said he plays baseball for Pomona-Pitzer College in Claremount, Calif. and Huerta said he enjoys playing baseball in Moses Lake.
"It's definitely a small town," he said. "There are a lot less people, but smaller is not a bad thing. I am having fun playing with these guys."
Moses Lake Pirates manager Trevor Brown said he is happy some of his players earned the right to play in the WCCBL all star game, including Huerta.
"It's fun for a lot of great players," Brown said. "A lot of these guys will remember this for a long time."
While the Pirates have only 14 games remaining on the schedule, Huerta said he appreciates every minute of playing baseball for the Moses Lake Pirates.
"It's been a dream," Huerta said.
