Help needed to support ill puppy mill animals

Nearly 100 dogs rescued

COLUMBIA BASIN - Supplies for Adams County Pet Rescue to care for nearly 100 surviving dogs from a Lind puppy mill raid are being collected at Pioneer Veterinary Clinic in Moses Lake.

The clinic is located at 827 Sharon Ave. Donations can be placed in a truck located in the employee parking lot from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Thursday.

More than 100 dogs were removed from a puppy mill July 12 following a complaint to the Adams County Sheriff's Office. Some dogs were euthanized due to severe health conditions at the Lind residence where Sharon Provost, 71, was arrested for animal cruelty in the first degree. Several deteriorated dog carcasses were located among the live dogs.

The majority of the dogs were Australian Shepherds. Their living conditions were described as poor and most had no food or water.

The dogs are being nursed back to health by Pet Rescue and are expected to be up for adoption next week. In the meantime, the organization needs supplies to care for the animals.

They are in need of dry dog food, tarps, laundry soap, bleach, dog shampoo, buckets, flea treatment, towels, dog houses and gift cards for supplies.

Gift cards and monetary donations should not be left at the donation site. They can be mailed to Pet Rescue, 202 Curtis Ave., Othello, WA 99344.

Daze of Camelot Animal Sanctuary is also collecting monetary donations for Pet Rescue and can deliver supplies. They can be contacted by calling 509-765-6451.
