Frank M. Griffith

Frank M. Griffith, 76, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Friday, July 18, 2008, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation Center in Moses Lake.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday July 22 at Kayser's Chapel of Memories with Dr. Paul Wagner officiating. He will be laid to rest in Bethany, Ill. Frank was born Jan. 13, 1932, in Portland, Ore., and was raised by Aunt Cora Crawford in Spokane. In 1952 Frank entered the United States Army and proudly served our country for 21 years with tours of duty in Korea and Vietnam wars. A purple heart was awarded to Frank for an injury in Vietnam. Frank met his wife, Mary Jane at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico and married in June 1961, spending 47 wonderful years together. Frank was a very devoted husband to Mary Jane and devoted father to his daughters. Frank endeared himself to Mary Jane's brothers and sister in Bethany, Ill., and visited her family whenever possible.

Frank will be greatly missed and is survived by his wife Mary Jane Griffith and their daughters and sons-in-law, Laura L.G. and Jim Rankin of Boise, Idaho, Sarah R. Bratten of Fairbanks, Alaska and Betsy J. and Raymond Pecka of Moses Lake. Also surviving are five grandsons, Frank Pecka, George Pecka, Sam Bratten, Jacob Rankin and Dylan Rankin.
