MOSES LAKE - The Wenatchee Wild hockey club completed its first tryout camp Sunday in Blaine, Minn. for the 2008 inaugural season.

Players from all over the country attended the camp and demonstrated skills and abilities for Wild coach Paul Baxter.

Baxter said he is satisfied with the results from the team's first camp.

"This camp has attracted some high end kids," he said. "Some of the players we've tendered [offered letter of intent] were there as well and performed great."

The Wenatchee Wild have announced several commitments to players attending the camp and are closer to completing its 23-player roster.

Wild president Bill Stewart said he is optimistic about the 2008 season.

"We're thrilled with the response," he said. "Over 100 kids turned out for tryouts. These games were fast paced and physical and it's great to see so many quality players - it's a great start for our organization to guild a championship team."
