Moses Lake prepares for tournament
MOSES LAKE - With the Fourth of July right around the corner, ten year olds from North Central Washington will take to the Larson Playfield Thursday for the Cal Ripken State Tournament.
Moses Lake coach Todd Garry said his players have put in the work to prepare for this tournament.
"It's a lot of work," he said. "We have basically been practicing since the first part of June. We have been practicing Monday through Friday."
This is the first year most of these players have been together, and Garry said he is excited.
"We have a really good group of kids," he said. "We have very supportive parents."
The Moses Lake team finished second at the Desert Classic over Father's Day weekend, and third in last weekend's Firecracker Classic. Garry said his team is ready for the state tournament.
"We have been putting in anywhere from two to two and a half hours a day," he said. "Put it this way: they better be hungry."
The four-day tournament begins Thursday at 11:30a.m. and concludes with the championship game Sunday at 1:00p.m.
