Susan Doreen Adams (Jones)

Susan Doreen Adams (Jones) was bom July 28, 1965, in Mesa, Ariz., to Alvin and Claudia Jones. She grew up in Columbus, Ga., and graduated from Shaw High School in 1983. She enjoyed music of all kinds and played saxophone for six years. She married Donald John Adams Jr. on June 16, 1984, in Columbus, Ga. While stationed at Ft. Benning, Ga., she was mayor of Custer Terrace housing area and had a daughter, Kelly Meiche'l. She moved to Quincy in May 1988 where son, Jarrod Phillip was bom. She later moved to Moses Lake where she had a son, Zachary John and a daughter, Hannah LeeAnne. Susan was a carrier for the Wenatchee World for six years and worked at National Frozen Foods as a lab lead/assistant lead from June 2004 to November 2006. Susan was a member of the Moses Lake 8th Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed teaching in primary and was loved by all those she had the opportunity to teach. Susan was pursuing a degree in nursing at Big Bend Community College when she was diagnosed with cancer. She returned peacefully to her Father in Heaven on Tuesday surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by grandparents Curtis and Susie Jones, grandfather, Waldo E. Williams, an aunt, Barbara Sue Williams, and father-in-law Donald John Adams Sr. She is survived by her husband and four children all of Moses Lake, parents, Alvin T. and Claudia Jones of Columbus, Ga., four sisters: Cynthia (Juventino) Trujillo of Colorado Springs, Colo., Laura (Walter) Rakow of Sparta, Wisc., Jennefier (Matt) Patterson of Lithia, Fla., Amanda (Ed) Brown of Ft. Riley, Kan., one brother, William A. (Sarah) Jones of Midvale, Utah, grandmother, Idell F. Williams of Vancouver, Wash., mother-in-law, Isabel Adams of Quincy, 17 nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Susan was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Big Bend Community College Foundation Scholarship Fund in the name of Susan D. Adams.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at the Moses Lake 8th Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1849 E. Nelson Rd.
