Elmer Koehn
Elmer Koehn, age 96, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on Saturday, Jan.19, 2008, on the Royal Slope. Elmer was bom the oldest of 14 children in Lahoma, Okla., Aug. 20, 1911, to Ben and Lea (Johnson) Koehn. He was raised and lived in Meno, Okla., until being drafted into the Army. He was in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign from 1942-1945. He served with the 142nd General Hospital in the Fiji Islands. He then moved to Blaine, Wash., where he met and married his wife, Susie (Koehn) on June 18, 1946. They resided there until 1968 when they moved to the Royal Slope area. He remained the next 39 years here where he farmed until his retirement. Elmer enjoyed being with his family, reading his Bible and talking politics. We all miss him dearly. He will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 61 years, Susie and their children, six sons, Gene (Rosa), Randy (Jackie), Mike (Brenda), Chris (Lynn), Dale, Chester; all residing in the Royal Slope area and daughter Rebecca Koehn of Moses Lake. Also including 34 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother Alvin; sisters; Lenora, Melinda, Alice, Luella; two infant children, Sherwin and Teresa. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Kayser's Chapel of Memories at 831 So. Pioneer Way, Moses Lake.
