Jean R. Gabbert

Jean R. Gabbert, loving Mother, Grandmother, and Wife died in Moses Lake after a long, full life.

She was 93, born in Andover South Dakota, on Sept. 16, 1914. Jean came to Moses Lake in 1950.

She was the daughter of Glenn and Marjorie Hoffman. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wendell Gabbert, brother Albert Hoffman, dear friend Mattie Costner.

Jean was a proud single mother of John "Scotty" Slack. In June of 1960 Jean Married Archie Richardson, and was blessed with a stepson, Paul Richardson who became a wonderful friend. In 1970 she married the love of her life, Wendell Gabbert and worked with Wendell in his Grange Insurance Agency. They were married for 35 years until Wendell died on May 14, 2002. A big piece of Jean went with him. Jean loved her family and in 1971 her true love was born, her Grandson Steve Slack. She was a very proud grandma and loved her time with him. Jean was blessed with two more grandsons, Roy Slack and Jeremy Davis, granddaughter Stacie Slack, and great-granddaughters Stevie Slack and Taylor Slack. Jean was a devoted friend, cherished each and every one of her friendships, she loved her cats and a good shopping spree. Jean will always be in our hearts and be missed very much. Jean was an elegant, caring, kind and loving lady. Jean is survived by John Slack, Steve, Julie, and Stevie Slack, Paul Richardson, Jeremy Davis, Roy Slack, Stacie Slack, and Taylor Slack. Service will be held Friday Jan. 18, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Kayser's Chapel.
