Adams County deputies arrest two

OTHELLO - Law enforcement arrested a man after he fell through the ceiling at a duplex near Othello Saturday.

Adams County sheriff's deputies responded to Margaret Lane concerning a fight in progress, Adams County Undersheriff John Hunt said. When law enforcement arrived it appeared to be a party involving at least five individuals.

Deputies reportedly told everyone to exit the duplex, he said. One man, Carlos Juarez, 21, Othello, allegedly remained inside and hid in the attic.

Deputies learned there was a firearm involved. Because they were unable to secure the firearm, the Othello Police Department and the Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team were called to assist.

The tactical response team entered the residence to extract Juarez after a search warrant was obtained, Hunt said.

Juarez reportedly crossed one side of the duplex to the other side and partially fell through the ceiling in the kitchen portion of the duplex where the tactical response team was located, he said.

Juarez was arrested for violating a no protection order, criminal trespassing and malicious mischief in the third degree.

The firearm, a revolver, was located in a dresser drawer on the side of the duplex where the incident originated, Hunt said.

George Anguiano, 22, Othello, was arrested at the scene for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a firearm and an outstanding warrant.

Hunt said Anguiano was allegedly in possession of two marijuana plants.

Neither suspect is believed to reside at the residence, he added.

The entire incident lasted approximately one hour, Hunt said.
